Oct. 29, 2014 – Sayid Zaid Naqawe

Defendant: Sayid Zaid Naqawe, 48, of Guelph.

Charge: Part III Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 4 – employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification.

Summary: On Feb. 26, 2014, Ontario College of Trades enforcement officers conducted an inspection at Sayid Auto Collision located in Guelph. Naqawe was confirmed to be performing work of an auto body collision damage repairer (310B) while not having a Certificate of Qualification or being a member of the College.

Oct. 29, 2014, Naqawe pleaded guilty to the charges under sec. 4 of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009.

The Ontario College of Trades is winding down as the government takes action to modernize the skilled trades and apprenticeship system.
