September 14, 2017 – Khana ARKALUOS

Defendant:  Khana ARKALUOS

Charge: Part III Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 2 – individual engaging in compulsory trade – without Certificate of Qualification that is not suspended.

Summary: On March 16, 2017, Ontario College of Trades inspectors conducted an inspection at Ray Daniel Salon, located in the Woodbine Centre at 500 Rexdale Boulevard, Etobicoke ON. The inspectors determined that Khana Arkaluos was performing a hair colour service for remuneration while she did not hold a Certificate of Qualification or a Statement of Membership in the compulsory trade of hairstylist (332A) that is not suspended, and while she was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement that is not suspended.

On September 14, 2017 Khana Arkaluos was convicted of the charge in a Toronto court and ordered to pay a fine of $500 plus a $110 victim fine surcharge.

The Ontario College of Trades is winding down as the government takes action to modernize the skilled trades and apprenticeship system.
