Charges: Part III Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 4 – employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification (two counts).
Summary: On March 16, 2017, Ontario College of Trades inspectors conducted an inspection at Ray Daniel Salon, located in the Woodbine Centre at 500 Rexdale Boulevard, Etobicoke ON. The inspectors determined that two individuals employed or otherwise engaged by 1184747 Ontario Ltd. o/a Ray Daniel Salon & Spa were performing hair colour services for remuneration while they did not hold Certificates of Qualification or Statements of Membership in the compulsory trade of hairstylist (332A) that were not suspended, and while they were not apprentices in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement that is not suspended.
On September 14, 2017 1184747 Ontario Ltd. o/a Ray Daniel Salon & Spa was convicted of the charges in a Toronto court and ordered to pay a fine of $2,200 plus a $550 victim fine surcharge. In addition, the court issued a two-year probation order for 1184747 Ontario Ltd. o/a Ray Daniel Salon & Spa.
