Sept. 8, 2014 – Karim Faqirzai

Defendant: Karim Faqirzai, 48, of Waterloo.

Charge: Part I Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 2 – individual engaging in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification.

Summary: On March 6, 2014 Ontario College of Trades enforcement officers conducted an inspection at a site located in Kitchener. One individual was confirmed to be performing work of an auto body repairer (310Q) while not having a Certificate of Qualification or being a member of the College.

On Sept. 8, 2014, Faqirzai pleaded guilty to the charges under sec. 2 of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009.

The Ontario College of Trades is winding down as the government takes action to modernize the skilled trades and apprenticeship system.
