Defendant: Jagjit S. Mann, of Waterloo.

Charge: Part I Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 4 – employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification.

Summary: On Oct. 1, 2013, Ontario College of Trades enforcement officers conducted an inspection at One Diesel Truck and Trailer Repairs Ltd., located in Cambridge. One individual was found to be performing work of a truck and coach technician (310T) while not having a Certificate of Qualification or being a member of the College.

On July 28, 2014 Mann pleaded guilty to the charges under sec. 4 of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009.

The Ontario College of Trades is winding down as the government takes action to modernize the skilled trades and apprenticeship system.
