November 3, 2017 – Livio DI RUBBO

Charge: Part III Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 86 (7) – obstruction of investigators and inspectors.

Summary: On December 12, 2016, Ontario College of Trades inspectors attempted to perform an inspection at Speedy Auto Service located at 17295A Yonge Street, Newmarket, ON.

Livio Di Rubbo refused inspectors entry to the property in order to perform an inspection and was subsequently charged with obstruction.

On November 3, 2017, Livio Di Rubbo was convicted of the charge in a Newmarket court and ordered to pay a fine of $2,500 plus a $625 victim fine surcharge. In addition, the court issued a two-year probation order for Livio Di Rubbo.

The Ontario College of Trades is winding down as the government takes action to modernize the skilled trades and apprenticeship system.
