Charge: Part I Provincial Offences Act notice for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 4 – employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification.
Summary: On February 15, 2017, Ontario College of Trades inspectors conducted an inspection at Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. located at 715 Sprucewood Avenue, Windsor, ON. The inspectors determined that one individual employed or otherwise engaged by 1027550 o/a Cybertech Controls and Electric Inc. was installing new fluorescent lighting fixtures and associated wiring while he did not hold a Certificate of Qualification or a Statement of Membership in the compulsory trade of electrician – construction and maintenance (309A) that is not suspended, and while he was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement that is not suspended.
On November 29, 2017, 1027550 o/a Cybertech Controls and Electric Inc. was convicted of the charge in a Windsor court and ordered to pay a fine of $2,500 plus a $625 victim fine surcharge. In addition, the court issued a two-year probation order for 1027550 o/a Cybertech Controls and Electric Inc.
