June 6, 2018 – Ontario Corporation #1276180 o/a D. Randall Industrial Electric Inc.

Charges: Part III Provincial Offences Act summons for offences under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 4 – – employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification.

Summary: As a result of a public complaint, Ontario College of Trades inspectors determined that in June and July 2017, at multiple work sites in Durham Region, an individual employed by Ontario Corporation #1276180 o/a D. Randall Industrial Electric Inc. was laying out, installing and connecting wiring/conduit, electrical fixtures for lighting, brackets and hangers for supporting electrical equipment, receptacles and junction boxes, while said individual did not hold a Certificate of Qualification or a Statement of Membership in the compulsory trade of electrician – construction and maintenance (309A), and while the individual was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement.

On June 6, 2018, Ontario Corporation #1276180 o/a D. Randall Industrial Electric Inc. was convicted of the charge in a Whitby court and ordered to pay a fine of $4,000 plus a $1,000 victim fine surcharge.
