June 29, 2017 – Allteam Auto Center Inc.

Charge: Part III Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 4 – employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification.

Summary: On March 20, 2017 Ontario College of Trades inspectors performed an inspection at Allteam Auto Center Inc., located at 92 Crockford Boulevard, Toronto ON. The inspectors determined that one individual employed by Allteam Auto Center Inc. was installing an alternator on a motor vehicle while he did not hold a Certificate of Qualification or a Statement of Membership in the compulsory trade of automotive service technician (310S) that is not suspended, and while he was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement that is not suspended.

On June 29, 2017 Allteam Auto Center Inc. was convicted of the charge in a Toronto court and ordered to pay a fine of $1,200 plus a $300 victim fine surcharge. In additional, the court issued a two-year probation order for Allteam Auto Center Inc.

The Ontario College of Trades is winding down as the government takes action to modernize the skilled trades and apprenticeship system.
