Defendant: Nhi Si, 43, of Scarborough.

Charge: Part I Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 2 – individual engaging in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification.

Summary: On April 9, 2014, Ontario College of Trades enforcement officers conducted an inspection located in Toronto. Si was confirmed to be performing work of a transmission technician (310D) while not having a Certificate of Qualification or being a member of the College.

On July 17, 2014, Si pleaded guilty to the charges under sec. 2 of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009.

The Ontario College of Trades is winding down as the government takes action to modernize the skilled trades and apprenticeship system.
