December 8, 2017 – Siya SEYED-IBRAHIM

Charge: Part III Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 86 (7) – obstruction of investigators and inspectors.

Summary: On May 5, 2017, Ontario College of Trades inspectors attempted to perform a follow-up inspection at Sid’s Auto Body & Collision, located at 82-A Oakdale Avenue, St. Catharines, ON. Siya Seyed-Ibrahim would not allow the inspector to enter the premises to conduct his inspection, and as a result Mr. Seyed-Ibrahim was subsequently charged with obstruction.

On December 8, 2017, Siya Seyed-Ibrahim was convicted of the charge in a St. Catharines court and ordered to pay a fine of $3,500 plus a $875 victim fine surcharge. In addition, the court issued a two-year probation order for Siya Seyed-Ibrahim.

The Ontario College of Trades is winding down as the government takes action to modernize the skilled trades and apprenticeship system.
