Charge: Part I Provincial Offences Act notice for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 2 – individual engaging in compulsory trade – without Certificate of Qualification that is not suspended.

Summary: On May 23, 2017, Ontario College of Trades inspectors conducted an inspection at Jervis Truck and RV Sales, located at 41961C Huron Road, Seaforth, ON. The inspectors determined that David Jervis was replacing the transmission of a vehicle while he did not hold a Certificate of Qualification or a Statement of Membership in the compulsory trade of automotive service technician (310S) that is not suspended, and while he was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement that is not suspended.

On August 15, 2017, David Jervis was convicted of the charge in a Goderich court and ordered to pay a fine of $195 plus a $35 victim fine surcharge.

The Ontario College of Trades is winding down as the government takes action to modernize the skilled trades and apprenticeship system.
