September 27, 2017 – Zaki BOULOS

Contravention: Individual engaging in the practice of a compulsory trade without proper qualifications, contrary to section 2 of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 (OCTAA).

Summary: On September 21, 2017, Ontario College of Trades inspectors conducted an inspection at Northstar 1 Auto, located at 1306 Crawford Avenue, Windsor ON. The inspectors determined that Zaki Boulos was performing auto body repairs to the passenger front area of a vehicle while he did not hold a Certificate of Qualification or a Statement of Membership in the compulsory trade of auto body and collision damage repairer (310B) that is not suspended, and while he was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement that is not suspended.

Notice of Contravention: On September 27, 2017, a College inspector issued a Notice of Contravention to Zaki Boulos of Windsor, setting out an administrative penalty of $250. Mr. Boulos had no other OCTAA Notices of Contravention issued to him in the three years preceding the date of the current notice.

The Ontario College of Trades is winding down as the government takes action to modernize the skilled trades and apprenticeship system.
