November 7, 2017 – Nuforce Electrical & Security Comp Ltd.

Contravention: Employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification, contrary to section 4 of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 (OCTAA).

Summary: On August 24, 2017, Ontario College of Trades inspectors conducted an inspection at a new residential construction site located in West Alliston, ON. The inspectors determined that one individual employed by Nuforce Electrical & Security Comp Ltd. was installing an electrical box and wiring for an appliance while he did not hold a Certificate of Qualification or a Statement of Membership in the compulsory trade of electrician – domestic and rural (309C) that is not suspended, and while he was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement that is not suspended.

Notice of Contravention: On November 7, 2017, a College inspector issued a Notice of Contravention to Nuforce Electrical & Security Comp Ltd. of Brampton, setting out an administrative penalty of $500. Nuforce Electrical & Security Comp Ltd. had no other OCTAA Notices of Contravention issued to it in the three years preceding the date of the current notice.

The Ontario College of Trades is winding down as the government takes action to modernize the skilled trades and apprenticeship system.
