Contravention: Employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification, contrary to section 4 of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 (OCTAA).
Summary: On December 6, 2017, Ontario College of Trades inspectors conducted an inspection at Reeves Auto Sales & Service, located at 320 Queen Street East, Brampton, ON. The inspectors determined that an individual employed or engaged by 1367486 Ontario Inc. o/a Reeves Auto Sales & Service performed the inspection, disassembly and installation of the front brake rotors and pads, steering tie rods, suspension sway bar link and lower control arm assembly on a motor vehicle while he did not hold a Certificate of Qualification or a Statement of Membership in the compulsory trade of automotive service technician (310S) that is not suspended, and while he was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement that is not suspended.
Notice of Contravention: On January 3, 2018, a College inspector issued a Notice of Contravention to 1367486 Ontario Inc. o/a Reeves Auto Sales & Service of Brampton ON, setting out an administrative penalty of $500. 1367486 Ontario Inc. o/a Reeves Auto Sales & Service had no other OCTAA Notices of Contravention issued to it in the three years preceding the date of the current notice.
