January 2, 2018 – 2345925 Ontario Inc. o/a Icon Plumbing and Heating

Contravention: Employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification, contrary to section 4 of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 (OCTAA).

Summary: On August 25, 2017, Ontario College of Trades inspectors conducted an inspection at a new residential construction site located at lot #53 Adams Avenue South, Listowel, ON. The inspectors determined that an individual employed or engaged by 2345925 Ontario Inc. o/a Icon Plumbing and Heating was installing and connecting piping for the supply of water while he did not hold a Certificate of Qualification or a Statement of Membership in the compulsory trade of plumber (306A) that is not suspended, and while he was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement that is not suspended.

Notice of Contravention: On January 2, 2018, a College inspector issued a Notice of Contravention to 2345925 Ontario Inc. o/a Icon Plumbing and Heating of Richmond Hill ON, setting out an administrative penalty of $500. 2345925 Ontario Inc. o/a Icon Plumbing and Heating had no other OCTAA Notices of Contravention issued to it in the three years preceding the date of the current notice.
