January 2, 2018 – 2091093 Ontario Inc. o/a McDonald Diesel Service

Contravention: Employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification, contrary to section 4 of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 (OCTAA).

Summary: On October 23, 2017, Ontario College of Trades inspectors conducted an inspection at McDonald Diesel Service, located at 321 Clarence Street, Brampton, ON. The inspectors determined that an individual employed or engaged by 2091093 Ontario Inc. o/a McDonald Diesel Service diagnosed and was repairing a cracked LF front axle hub and seal on a 2008 Freightliner Truck while he did not hold a Certificate of Qualification or a Statement of Membership in the compulsory trade of truck and coach technician (310T) that is not suspended, and while he was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement that is not suspended.

Notice of Contravention: On January 2, 2018, a College inspector issued a Notice of Contravention to 2091093 Ontario Inc. o/a McDonald Diesel Service of Brampton ON, setting out an administrative penalty of $500. 2091093 Ontario Inc. o/a McDonald Diesel Service had no other OCTAA Notices of Contravention issued to it in the three years preceding the date of the current notice.
