Contravention: Individual engaging in the practice of a compulsory trade without proper qualifications, contrary to section 2 of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 (OCTAA)(2 contraventions).

Summary: Ontario College of Trades inspectors determined that ending on June 15, 2017, Louis Van De Cruize changed the electrical panel and some electrical wiring, installed water drains and supply pipes, a bathtub, shower and vanity inside a residence in Niagara Falls, ON while he did not hold a Certificate of Qualification or a Statement of Membership that is not suspended in the compulsory trades of electrician – domestic and rural (309C) or plumber (306A), and while he was not an apprentice in either trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement that is not suspended.

Notice of Contravention: On April 16, 2018, a College inspector issued two Notices of Contravention to Louis Meredith Van De Cruize of Toronto, ON, setting out two administrative penalties of $250 each. Mr. Van De Cruize had no other OCTAA Notices of Contravention issued to him in the three years preceding the date of the current notices.
